Hi everyone! As the title of this log states – I have officially made it to Sri Lanka in one piece.

Right now it is 7am Sri Lanakan time and I am sitting in the lobby of my hotel sipping on some coffee. The staff here is so incredibly kind, giving me water and making sure I have everything I need. They offer some great tours that I will be taking later in hopes of keeping me up so I can go to at normal night time.

Just driving to the hotel was such a humbling experience. I have never experience a place like this before. Yes, I have been all over Europe and seen some poverty in Mexico and the Bahamas, but this takes it to a whole new level. Everything is so crammed – people are hussling at all times, homeless dog liter the streets, and don’t even get me started on how terrifying the driving is! But I am so happy that I have the opportunity to experience this, I know that while some of it may be hard to take in, in the end I will grow and learn so much.
